As a concert pianist, he has given regular recitals both as soloist and as accompanist for many talented singers and instrumentalists.  The solo repertoire is weighted towards the Romantic music of Chopin, Liszt and Rachmaninov, but Ravel, Debussy, Satie, Prokofiev and Gershwin also feature regularly.

His musical services are sought over a wide area which takes in Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside and North Wales.

Apart from enjoying a longstanding regular list of clients for piano tuition at all ages and standards, Roger can also undertake the writing of arrangements for soloists, choirs, or even aspiring piano players!

Roger has throughout his career worked as an accompanist for many locally known soloists in the Chester district and has in the past been resident accompanist for many choirs and operatic societies. As a result he has built up quite a reputation for the quality of his music.

Review as an Accompanist
5 out of 5

An Artistic Review of Roger Stephens, a Piano Teacher and Accompanist from Chester.

I am a professional opera singer, working nationally and abroad in Bayreuth Opera Germany amongst others and have sung with many leading symphony orchestras. As vocal tutor at university level and privately, I have coached many successful singers, some classical and some working in musicals in the West End of London. The popular tenor Russell Watson studied with me.
Roger Stephens has been my accompanist and music advisor for over ten years. We have performed in many successful recitals together and he is conscientious, diligent, and straightforward. I have had the pleasure also of performing one of his own compositions.
I can highly recommend Roger to anyone wishing to work with a first-rate, sympathetic musician.
